like father, like son

This is almost too bizarre to look at - the picture on the left is greg as a baby....the picture on the right is jude.  when i look at greg's baby picture, i feel like i'm looking at my son!  How crazy is the resemblance?!?!

Jude is 2 months old

I cannot believe that two months have gone by since Jude was born.  On one hand, it seems so fast.  On the other, it seems like one big long day.  I feel like he changes every day.  He is looking more and more like Greg.  In the past couple of weeks he has started smiling at us!  He coos and "talks" a lot and he really loves sucking on his fists - he is trying really hard to fit his whole fist in his mouth!  He is starting to get chunkier, and he is sleeping SO well - last night he slept from 10:30pm until 7am!

We went on our church retreat this past weekend.  It was wonderful to hear great preaching and to be with church family.  But it was also a very difficult weekend for me - maybe a little too adventurous to take an 8-week old on a weekend retreat.  Life has a semblance of normalcy now.  I am cooking again, grocery shopping, and cleaning... it doesn't quite look the same as it did before, but at least things are "functioning."  We even made it out to the beach on Easter weekend with some of our close friends, Ryan and Blake and their two little boys.

And we drove to New Hampshire to be with my aunt, uncle and cousins for Easter.

We grilled out and had a picnic dinner behind our apartments with our close friends the Smiths and the Wangs who also just had babies.

And Caroline, Courtney, Ryan and I who all have babies close in age (3 of them are within 3 weeks of each other, and the other is 5 months older) ventured out and took them to the beach when we had an 80 degree spring day here in Boston.  It was quite the sight to see all the car seats lined up!
